I’ll bet you do.
Maybe this sounds familiar. You’ve always wanted to write a book. Share your story.
Perhaps you’ve stopped and started. Told yourself this was the year you were finally going to write your book. And then life took over. With everything on your plate, was it any wonder that your book never quite got written?
I get it!
When you don’t have the time or support to write your book, it’s easy to keep putting off. A week turns into a month turns into a year. Or more.
That's what happened to me.
For almost 20 years, I helped people with their stories—teaching creative writing and business writing to university students, consulting with businesses and leading small, intimate workshops using the power of writing for personal clarity.
Getting my own book into the world, though, was a different story. For years, I stopped and started different projects, trying to find the time to write, and trying to figure out what my readers wanted. Underlying everything was the nagging fear of how my book would be received.
In 2014, I made a personal breakthrough. Instead of stalling over book projects for years (as I’d been doing), I wrote a book in just three months using the same system that I’d refined with my clients over the years.
Here’s the thing: once I published that book, it changed everything. I felt like there was nothing I couldn’t do now that I’d published a book! Which made it that much easier to write my second book.
I know how hard it is to wait--I did it for years. But getting your book written can be so much easier than you think!
I want to show you how easy it can be to jumpstart your book, and I want to give you a roadmap to help you get there. Writing a book doesn’t have to be slow and difficult, and you don’t need to wait for a magical chunk of time to open up before you start.
Hi, I'm Tanja, and I believe in the fierce power of books.
Whether you’re writing a business book, self-help, “how-to,” novel or memoir, I’m here to support you. I’m here to help you get your book written.
Because the world needs your gifts, my dear, perhaps now more than ever.
That’s why I want to help you get your book written this year, not some distant day in the future.
Your story matters.
So let’s get started!
A 3-hour live, online retreat you can access anywhere.

(Psst: The answers to these first two questions drive everything. Knowing your book’s specific audience and goal will save you tons of time and money, as well as lots of revisions. Skip this and you’re setting yourself up for lots of frustration and rewrites.)

Here’s how it works:

Q: I can’t make it. Can I still get the recording?
A: You bet! You’ll receive the recording within 48 hours, though you’ll be missing the interactive element that comes from attending live. Some introverts appreciate this, though. Ask yourself how much support you want and need.
If you’d like to do the live retreat but can’t make this date, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I plan on offering the retreat again in the future.
Q: I started my book, but got stuck. Will this help?
A: Definitely. A lot of times we get stuck because we’re not clear on what we’re trying to accomplish with our book. This retreat can help gain you clarity as well as a clear path forward.
Q: I want to write a book to claim my business expertise. Is this retreat a good fit for me?
A: Absolutely! If you’re writing on a topic of your expertise, you’re already ahead of the game. I think you’ll be surprised at how easy and straight-forward it can be to write a book like this.
Q: I’m writing fiction. Is this retreat for me?
A: Absolutely. Getting started is huge, as is committing to a writing schedule and setting yourself up for success--all things we'll be addressing during our time together. Wherever you're at, we'll get you started!
Charting out a road map for fiction isn't always as straight of a path as non-fiction. Some folks like to chart out plot points, and some like to write their way into them, discovering as they go. Others do a mix of the two. Knowing your preference going in can help you decide how ot make the best use of our time together.
Q: I’m writing memoir. Will this retreat be helpful to me?
A: Definitely! Writing memoir is a personal journey, one that involves lots of mining and self-discovery. If you're still living your story (in the thick of it), sometimes it's challenging to have the necessary perspective. Even if that's the case, it's still helpful to get started. Taking notes and charting out your course will be helpful whatever stage you're at. And if your story’s already been percolating, you're probably ready to dive right in!
If in doubt, check in with yourself. Does this feel like the right next step for you now?
Q: I'm having difficulty registering.
A: Email me at email@example.com and we’ll get you set up. (If you don’t hear from me within 48 hours, please check that my response isn't trapped in your spam filter.)
Q: Any other questions?
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
